ANAM CARA - soul friends

“There is a relentless search for the factual and this quest often lacks warmth or reverence. At a certain stage in our life we may wake up to the urgency of life, how short it is. Then the quest for truth becomes the ultimate project. We can often forage for years in the empty fields of self-analysis and self-improvement and sacrifice much of our real substance for specks of cold, lonesome factual truth. The wisdom of the tradition reminds us that if we choose to journey on the path of truth, it then becomes a sacred duty to walk hand in hand with beauty.”
Anam Cara, is the Celtic word for soul-friend, or soul love. In the early Celtic church, a person who acted as a teacher, companion or spiritual guide was called an anam cara.
It was someone you confessed to, revealing the hidden intimacies of your life. With the anam cara you could reveal your innermost self, your mind and your heart. This friendship was an act of recognition & belonging. When you had an anam cara, your friendship cut across all convention, morality & category. You were joined in an ancient and eternal way, with the friend of your soul.
With the anam cara there is no set limitations of space or time. There is no cage on the soul. The soul stays a divine light that flows from you to your "other". This art of belonging awakened and fostered a deep & special companionship. In everyone's life there is a great need for an anam cara. In this love, you understand and are understood as you are, without mask or pretention. You can be as you truly are.
Love allows understanding to dawn, and understanding is precious.
Where you are understood, you are at home.
Understanding nourishes belonging. When you really feel understood, you feel free to release yourself into the trust & shelter of the other person's soul. A love like this is the only light that can truly read the secret signature of the other person's individuality and soul.
Love alone is literate in the world of origin. It can decipher identity & destiny. It is precise in awakening and exploring the rich & opaque inner landscape that the anam cara experience. It illuminates the mystery and kindness of the divine. The anam cara is God's gift. Friendship is the nature of God. This love is everything but sentimental, in fact, it is the most real and creative form of human presence. This love is the threshold where the divine and human presence ebb & flow into each other. Where there is this depth in awareness, there is reverence for presence. Awareness is one of the greatest gifts you can bring to your friendship.
Many people have an anam cara of whom they are not aware. Their lack of awareness cloaks their friend's presence & causes feelings of distance and absence.
It is wise to pray for the grace of recognition, inspired by awareness. You may then discover beside you, the anam cara you have always dreamed of. Always longed for.
The anam cara friendship is graced with affection. Friendship awakens affection, and the heart learns a brand new art of feeling. Such a friendship is neither cerebral, nor abstract. It is not merely a metaphor or ideal.
Anam cara alters the meaning of identity and perception. It brings integration & healing. You look and see & understand differently.
The anam cara is sublime by permitting us to enter the unity, of ancient belonging.

Your Anam Cara always accepts you as you truly are, holding you in beauty and light. In order to appreciate this relationship, you must first recognize your own inner light and beauty. This is not always easy to do. The Celts believed that forming an Anam Cara friendship will help you to awaken your awareness of your own nature and experience the joys of others.
In Celtic spirituality, the anam cara friendship awakens the fullness and mystery of your life. You are joined in an ancient and eternal union with humanity that cuts across all barriers of time, convention, philosophy, and definition. When you are blessed with an anam cara, the Irish believe, you have arrived at that most sacred place: ~HOME~
I would like to translate it as spiritual friends. Because the main factor for me between spiritual friends is inspiration (in the spirit). To inspire each other and infuse each other with enthusiasm (en Theos: in God) to help spreading the divine light all over the Universe.
This is also a beautiful expression of the Shiva-Shakti principle.
If a normal relation is to succeed it is very important to share a common goal. If you share the highest goal your spiritual friendship will easily transcend space and time.
Also, Osho used this concept of a spiritual friend: The real master is only a friend, nothing more, nothing less. He can share his experience with you.
I love the definition of Deepak Chopra of the soul or spirit:
Soul is omniscient, it is intuitive, the source of intuition, source of intention, insight, imagination, creativity. The source of meaning, purpose, decision making.
Your soul has infinite creativity, your soul co-creates with God and there is no more valuable quest for human beings then to find their soul.
The chaos that is in the world now is a rift in our collective soul. We have lost our soul. Healing is nothing else as bringing back the restoration of the meaning of wholeness.
An Anam Cara loves your essence.
They see you beyond your mask. This is the mask of persona. This is what you call personality. They see beyond the fear. They see the absence of love. This is love you withdraw from others and yourself. This is the love that is your real power. This does not mean they have to like YOU. You are the one that gets in the way of soul. You soul is the light of love and it needs light. It needs the lightness of being. An Anam Cara will remind you simply “to be.”
An Anam Cara lives close to the land.
They might be found roosting with chickens. They love the elements of fire, water, earth and air. They are elemental beings although they are more down to earth than mental. Some might consider they exhibit opposite traits. They love sensuality and sexuality. They love the play of Eros. This takes them on the wing. An Anam Cara will remind you to come to your senses and be sensational.
An Anam Cara guides you to the presence you are
.They are people of the silence. They listen. They do not debate. They do not fill you up with knowledge. They transmit the knowing of love. They touch you with beauty. This is not their beauty but the beauty of the Beloved. They move in the world as nobodies of import. They do not puff up your ego. They may build your ego up. They do so in order that you can disappear. This is in order that you can fly the coop. This is so you can enter the joy of leaving the prison house of never being enough.
An Anam Cara reminds you of what is important.
They guide you to knowing who you are. They take you into what are called in Ireland “thin places.” They take you to the edge. They coax you to the edge. When you are trusting enough they push you. They know this is the only way for you to learn to fly. They know you are an eagle that was brought up in a society of chickens. The Anam Cara will take you soaring. The very air that will take you higher is learning trust and faith in your essential goodness.
An Anam Cara takes you to the source
You will be taken beyond time and space to the very source of your being. This will be done using different techniques depending on which Anam Cara you talk with. There will be techniques to take you out of the constant chatter of the coop into the light heartedness of life beyond the chicken wire. These techniques take you into ease and allow you to give up dis-ease.

They know you are always held in the hand of the Beloved. They are not here to do anything for or to you. They are only there to facilitate your discovery that you are always enough. They know that what you need is not more of anything but a great big helping of “no-thing.” This gives your soul true rest. This is where you give up trying to live life and become life abundant. You become the flow of the essential. Nothing matters because it all matters. Ultimately they take you to love of soul.

healing music, sounds and mantras
' the lost language of birds 'From ShantiMayi:
Just a moment of remembrance
anywhere and at any time
that's all...
That’s all...
From beginningless time people have looked for God by pilgriming the distance between doubt and wisdom.Walking into the Mountains, following the rivers. Along their journey they have prayed in the temples. They have been blessed by the yogis. They have looked for God in all these places. Those pilgrims for truth have been rewarded by vistas of snow capped Himalayas while Bathing in holy waters.Long peaceful meditations in the golden orange glow of evening. This is Gods way to speak to him self......Nature.There is one of wisdom's secrets that is kept in the silence of the heart. There God reminds the pilgrim when he is willing to listen. All this is Me alone. All of this is Myself and is within you.The beauty, the perfection, the temple, the sunset. I am yourself, the very truth within every moment, every step of your journey
From ancient times sound and music have always played
an important role in sacred and spiritual journeys.
From the trance inducing beat of the drum, used by many Shamans, sacred sounds like Mantras to Hymns and songs to God.
Influence of music and sounds.
There have been a lot of experiments on the influence of music, sounds, mantras and words on plants, animals, people and water. And for every one sensitive to the influence of music, sounds mantras and words, it will be no surprise that harmonious classical music like that of Mozart and Beethoven or of harmonious new-age music like that of Deuter, words like “I love you” and natural sounds of the sea, whales etc have a benevolent influence. And the opposite has been the case with disharmonious music like heavy metal, sounds like traffic noise and words like “I hate you”.
In the mind expanding movie ‘What the Bleep do we know’ there are many enlightening examples
about this. In this movie the famous pictures of water crystals of Prof. Emoto are also shown.
http://www.masaru-emoto.net/english/ephoto.html
Beautiful, pure water-crystals formed, when subjected to a repeat of the words “I love you” or the music of Beethoven. Crystals malformed non-geometrically, when subjected to hateful speech. Bad intent and some heavy metal music.
The essence of the Universe (Uni=one, verse=song) is vibrations
As you vibrate, the universe vibrates with you
The great Kundalini Yoga Master, Yogi Bhajan, once said, "Every element of the universe is in a constant state of vibration manifested to us as light, sound, and energy.” The human senses perceive only a fraction of the infinite range of vibrations, so it is difficult to comprehend that the Word mentioned in the Bible is actually the totality of the vibration which underlie and sustains all creation. A person can tune his or her consciousness into the awareness of that totality with the use of a mantra. By vibrating in rhythm with the breath to a particular sound that is proportional to the creative sound, or sound current, one can expand one's sensitivity to the entire spectrum of vibrations. It is similar to striking a note on a stringed instrument. In other words:” as you vibrate, the universe vibrates with you."
What is a mantra?
Mantra is the creative projection of the human mind through the form of sound. Man is mind and Trang is a projection or wave. This mind wave is a structure that has powerful effects on the human psyche and the chakras. Yogi Bhajan explained "Mantras are formulas that alter the patterns of the mind and the chemistry of the brain, according to physical and metaphysical laws. The power of a mantra is in it sound vibration."
Empowering a mantra
By empowering each mantra repetition with a breath cycle it is as if the power of the mantra is breathing through us affecting each and every cell. Elevating and altering the frequency of the energy we currently broadcast. Conscious or unconscious, we are constantly broadcasting a frequency. The question I have is: "What message are you broadcasting?" Is it a message of stress and survival? Or is it one of peace, love, compassion, and kindness?
The profound effect of a mantra
Breathe deeply and give your body, the organs and the cells a chance to become empowered by prana, the breath, the life energy. Enliven yourself and chant the ancient combination of words that have significant and profound effects on not only your body, mind, and soul but can affect all those around you, the planet, and even the neighbouring star systems. Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it is simply transferred (Isaac Newton). Imagine that your words, once spoken, will ripple out into the universe FOREVER. Even although thoughts, the sound waves will decrease over time and become inaudible, it will in essence ripple through time and space for eons. So, let us allow the breath to enter us an please enjoy that silence you feel.
Uplifting all life
Karma, as the Buddhists believe, is created through thinking, speaking, and acting. The Christians believe that which you give, will return to you tenfold. How about we just chant and let the vibrations of powerful mantras heal us and heal others. Let us sing our prayers. Let us hold our unruly and sometimes judgmental tongues and chant. Let us heal through our singing. Let us uplift all life in all galaxies and in all dimensions with mantras.
Let us remember we are multi-dimensional beings here on a mission and do our part and fulfil our destinies.
What Is a Mantra and How Does It Work
A saying from the Vedas claims that "Speech is the essence of humanity." All of what humanity thinks and ultimately becomes is determined by the expression of ideas and actions through speech and its derivative: writing. Everything, the Vedas maintain, comes into being through speech. Ideas remain not-idealised until they are created through the power of speech. Similarly, The New Testament, Gospel of John, starts "In the beginning was The Word. And the Word was with God and the Word was God..."
In mainstream Vedic practices, most Buddhist techniques and classical Hinduism, mantras are viewed as a necessity for spiritual advancement and high attainment. In The Kalachakra Tantra, the Dalai Lama states, "Therefore, without depending upon mantra... Buddha-hood cannot be attained."
Clearly, there is a reason why such widely divergent sources of religious wisdom as the Vedas, the New Testament and the Dalai Lama speak in common ideas. Here are some important ideas about mantra which will enable you to begin a practical understanding of what mantra is and what it can do.
Mantras are energy-based sounds.
Saying any word produces an actual physical vibration. Over time, if we know what the effect of that vibration is, then the word may come to have meaning associated with the effect of saying that vibration or word. This is one level of energy basis for words.
Another level is intent. If the actual physical vibration is coupled with a mental intention, the vibration then contains an additional mental component which influences the result of saying it. The sound is the carrier wave and the intent is overlaid upon the wave form
In either instance, the word is based upon energy. Although there is a general meaning which comes to be associated with mantras, the only lasting definition is the result or effect of saying or chanting the mantra.
Mantras create thought-energy waves
Mantras start a powerful vibration which corresponds to both a specific spiritual energy frequency and a state of consciousness in seed form. Over time, the mantra process begins to override all of the other smaller vibrations, which eventually become absorbed by the mantra. After a length of time which varies from individual to individual, the great wave of the mantra stills all other vibrations. Ultimately, the mantra produces a state where the organism vibrates at the rate completely in tune with the energy and spiritual state represented by and contained within the mantra.
At this point, a change of state occurs in the organism. The organism becomes subtly different. Just as a laser is light which is coherent in a new way, the person who becomes one with the state produced by the mantra is also coherent in a way which did not exist prior to the conscious undertaking of repetition of the mantra.
Mantras are tools of power
They are formidable. They are ancient. They work. The word "mantra" is derived from two Sanskrit words. The first is "manas" or "mind," which provides the "man" syllable. The second syllable is drawn from the Sanskrit word "trai" meaning to "protect" or to "free from." Therefore, the word mantra in its most literal sense means "to free from the mind." Mantra is, at its core, a tool used by the mind which eventually frees one from the ego or the devil in the mind.
The journey from mantra to freedom is a wondrous one. The mind expands, deepens and widens and eventually dips into the essence of cosmic existence. On its journey, the mind comes to understand much about the essence of the vibration of things. And knowledge, as we all know, is power. In the case of mantra, this power is tangible and wieldable.
Mantras seen from the Vedic tradition
Mantras originated in the Vedic tradition of India, later becoming an essential part of the Hindu tradition and a customary practice within Buddhism, Sikhism and Jainism. The use of mantras is now widespread throughout various spiritual movements which are based on, or off-shoots of, the practices in the earlier Eastern traditions and religions.
A mantra is a sound, syllable, word, or group of words that are considered capable of creating spiritual transformation. Their use and type varies according to the school and philosophy associated with the mantra.
These sounds are manifestations of ultimate reality, in the sense of sound symbolism postulating that the vocal sounds of the mantra have inherent meaning independent of the understanding of the person uttering them.
In the Hindu tantra the universe is sound. The supreme (God / Para) brings forth existence through the Word (Shabda).
Creation consists of vibrations at various frequencies and amplitudes giving rise to the phenomena of the world.
The purest vibrations are the var.na, the imperishable letters which are revealed to us, imperfectly as the audible sounds and visible forms.
Var.nas are the atoms of sound. A complex symbolic association was built up between letters and the elements, gods, signs of the zodiac, parts of the body -- letters became rich in these associations.
Continuous practice of mantra purifies the Consciousness and the mind, and removes the Karma in much the same way as constantly walking over weeds crushes them. A spiritual Mantra usually contains the word OM or GOD and the name of the divine Incarnation. Mantra works in such a way that the spiritual power contained within the vibration of the word(s) is realized within us. Vibrations can be audible or inaudible. Thoughts and feelings are counted as soundless vibrations. These are no less effective than the spoken word.

The Resonance music and the healing sounds are based on the above mentioned principles.
Resonance music is a (on scientific base developed) sound pattern, which consists of a harmonic synthesis of celestial sounds and brain hemisphere synchronization waves. The celestial sounds are based on the vibrations of the Sun, Moon and the planets.
The healing sounds consist of gong, drum and voice improvisations. They create a certain vibration that can uplift us and bring us in a more harmonious and peaceful vibration.
Both the above are naturally found in nature.
MEDITATION MANTRA OF THE DALAI LAMA
The mantra of Rig Veda was recorded, with his permission, by a student of the Dalai Lama.
After refusal he agreed to the recording, on the condition that this mantra must never be sold, but simply be passed on for free.
MAHA MRITYUNJAYA MANTRA
Om Tryambakam yajamahe
Sugandim pushti vardanam
Uryarukamiya bondhanan
Mrityor mukshia mamritat
TRANSLATION
I meditate and surrender to the Divine Presence which embodies
The power of will, the power of action.
I pray to the Divine Presence, which manifests in the scent of the flower of life
And which is also nurturance of the flower of life.
Like a skilled gardener may the Lord of life disentangle me from any obstructing and binding forces
of my physical, psychological and spiritual adversaries.
May the Lord of Immortality reside in me and free me from death, decay and illness
Fill me and unite me with immortality.

prayers - mantras - power words and the names of god

There is not a single spiritual teacher or master on earth that does not recommend prayer, meditation, the repetition of the names of God or the use of mantras. The benefits of these practises are unbelievable.
One of the laws of the universe is that Thought creates reality. Energy follows thought. Creation follows thought. You become that which you are chanting. Chanting can clear all negative feeling or emotions.
The repetition of the names of God is an antidote to all challenges in life. We all know the incredible power of words. Powerful words have the power to heal instantly. The interesting fact is that mantras, prayers and words of power become more powerful, if we use them frequently with intent.
The constant practise of these most holy disciplines builds enormous spiritual force and power, which can be used to bless or heal every person you meet. It will remind you constantly, of who you truly are.
Religious and spiritual teachings mean nothing if they are not experienced. Yet without our deeply ingrained worldly tendencies, we are easily distracted and keep postponing the time when we will start our true path to, and in God.
We have all been advised on numerous occasions, not to waste our brief time here on this world.

Say not ye,
“There are yet four months, and then cometh the harvest?”
Behold, I say unto you,
Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields;
For they are white already to harvest.
John 4:35
In Matthew Jesus says that there is no lack of “harvest”, and the infinite spiritual treasure is enough to provide the entire creation. “But the labourers are few”: very few people are really prepared to dedicate themselves to the task of reaping His harvest.

Padme Siddhi Hum – Come to me, O power of the heart.
Om Ah Hum – Come toward me Om
May this sun
Never set on this moment
May this love and this light
Never grow dim again
May this joy I have inside me
Make but a dent in the shields of sorrow on earth
For I know You inside me
And I know You outside me
In this eternal moment of now
Forever and ever Amen
THE SOUL MANTRA
I am the Soul
I am the Light Divine
I am Love
I am Will
I am God’s design.
THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, Who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name.
They Kingdom come, Thy Will be done
On earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts
As we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory, forever.
Amen.
